  • Sulforaphane is a phytonutrient (a nutrient found in a plant) derived from certain vegetables, which helps multiple antioxidant pathways in the body. It can neutralize toxins, reduce inflammation and support the body’s efforts to reduce cancer.

Since it was first isolated from broccoli and demonstrated to have cancer chemoprotective properties in the early 1990s, over 3,000 publications have described its efficacy and/or underlying mechanisms of action.

There is even data that sulforaphane supports a healthy liver, as well as protecting against pollution, UV rays from sunlight, alcohol, cigarette smoke and airborne pollutants.

In order to make sulforaphane in the body, you need glucoraphanin (also known as sulforaphane glucosinolate) and an enzyme called myrosinase.

In nature, the highest level of sulforaphane glucosinolate is found in broccoli plants. When eating broccoli sprouts, the molecules are released as you chew, and they combine to become the sulforaphane that we need.
