What causes unhealthy ageing?

4 most common causes!

Let's break down the top 4 most common causes of unhealthy ageing.

Lack of exercise

A paper from The Harvard Gazette found that an inactive lifestyle was associated with higher risks of all four types of heart disease, with a 50% greater risk of heart failure and heart-related death when you're stationary for 10 hours a day or more.

Unhealthy diet

A study from The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that participants with the highest consumption of ultra-processed foods had a 26% higher risk of all-cause mortality and a 58% increased risk of heart-related mortality compared to those with the lowest intake.

Poor sleep

The Sleep Research Society published a study showing that irregular sleep patterns were associated with a higher risk of premature death.

Chronic Stress

A combination of studies published in The BMJ found that even low levels of mental stress were associated with a higher risk of mortality from all causes, including heart-related diseases and cancer.

This isn't meant to scare you but to show you how quickly you can change your ageing process.

What should you do?

  • Create systems to help manage your stress levels, such as yoga, meditation, and time away from work.

  • Set a sleep schedule to get regular, good quality sleep at night.

  • Cut out processed foods from your diet, such as fast food.

  • Get plenty of exercise. Walking, working out, and sports, whatever gets you moving.

  • Add the correct supplementation to boost the effects of your healthy lifestyle and fight back against ageing.
