Does this ingredient slow ageing?
A recent study published in Nature suggests that taking omega-3 supplements might help slow down the ageing process.
Scientists ran a 3-year study with older adults to see if taking omega-3
could actually slow down ageing.
They split the participants into groups—some took omega-3, some took vitamin D, some did simple exercises, and some did a mix of all three.
They tracked their biological ageing through the entire study (how their cells were ageing).
The Results?
People who took omega-3 aged about 3 months less over the 3 years.
Those who took omega-3 + vitamin D + exercised aged nearly 4 months less!
Plus, they had fewer infections, fewer falls, and even lower cancer rates.
What This Means:
While this isn’t a magic anti-ageing pill, it shows that a small daily habit—like taking omega-3s—will help us stay healthier for longer.
It's incredibly easy to throw omega-3 into your daily supplementation, and given the benefits it provides, there is no reason not to take it.
